I was there first!

From Bill Gaither, on Wed, 14 Feb 2001 17:50:50 GMT (in response to: Phan Rang Air Base)

I arrived at Phan Rang When it was Bu Son, prior to the building of the Jet runway. We arrived in a C-130 and landed on a short PSP runway. That was in Jan, 1965. I was there until March 1968. I ran the "Snake House" that had been the old motor pool offices. I painted the murals in the NCO club and ran the "Project Father" orphanage project with USAID in Phan Rang City. Attached to com sq there. Was SEAWEBS monitor for II corps and worked with most units since I was the Motorola Contract monitor and handled all problems with non-tactical radio.
