600th Photo Sq det 5 COMDOC 67/68

From Tom "Robby" Robbins, on Fri, 17 Nov 2000 03:23:45 GMT (in response to: 600th Photo Sq 1967 and NCO Club)

It's great to hear those stories,I remember the Aussie photograpers and spent New Years Eve in there enlisted mans club playing Aussie rules football, while drinking rum and coke out of the biggest cans I have ever seen. We wrecked the place. The Aussies take their football seriously. I remember the Bamboo Viper (the NCO club)up on the hill and sitting there looking out over the base from the patio, sometimes it was so peaceful it was hard to believe there was a war going on. But the next day you would fly another mission and it would come right back to you in a rush. All the guy's in the detachment were good men. I have great memories of my time in Happy Valley.
