From Larry Dabb, on Mon, 03 Feb 2003 02:52:40 GMT (in response to: RMK-BRJ )

I was TDY to RMKBRJ in late 65 from the 584th LE Co.
About 6 or 8 of us worked on building the air strip by doing some of the dirt hauling. Operated 830 M's and afew of the dozers. Spread bosses that I remember were Al and Bob one of there last names was Roberts if I recall. Bob I believe had only one arm and boy could he make that D-8 talk when he got on it. Worked in later years for M&K at a nuke plant in Wisc.on a rebuilding job of steam generators. Have pictures of first jets landing at Cam Rahn. also pictures(slides)
of C-130"s landing and taking off. Also remember of testing cables at end of runways prior to jets landing.
