From Dennis Ferruzzi, on Thu, 27 Jul 2000 09:57:07 GMT (in response to: about "draft dodgers")
Those people that dodged the draft were wrong, but hunderds of thousands of soldiers have given their lives so that they may be the cowards that they were. They gave their lives so that the citizens of this country may have freedom. The draft dodgers took their freedom and used it to avoid giving a little back to those that gave everything for them. I and thousands of others are sworn to make sure that they have the freedom to do it again if that is what they choose. I don't agree with what they did, but it is my job, and more importantly, my SWORN duty to make sure that they remain free. What you do with this freedom is up to you. Please don't waste all of those lives that were given for you and the other citizens of this country. One of the biggst reasons I have joined the service is because I felt, and still feel, that I owe at least a few years of my life to help pay for the rest of theirs. They made the ultimate sacrice so that you can be free. Please, do the right thing with it. It has cost far too many lives to throw it away, and it will cost many, many more.
