You seem a bit ticked there Stan, did our brave cadet flick a raw spot? The simple fact is there is little chance of proving either way that this story is true or false, like anything which has not been recorded, people can lie. But based on what we do know about Hanoi Jane, her vehemently anti-American actions, and the fact that she spent much of the time since married to a Communist sympathizer........... ie Ted Turner, a man who's been known to have a little problem with loose lips before too, just read what he says about the Pope ( that's the sort of man who should be forced into sensitivity training!) I'd say that believing she would do something like that is more resonable. Truth is, I don't even see anything wrong with Vietnam. I sure a hell don't support those I have labeled "The Worst Generation" those cowards that refused to fight when their country needed them. I have just as much respect, perhaps even a little more for Vietnam vets as I do for WW2 vets. Not only did Vietnam vets fight an even more barbaric enemy than did thier fathers, and I do consider the Vietnamese more barbaric by far because at least the Germans obeyed the rules of POWs through most of the war, although the Japanese were certainly just as savage as the Vietnamese, but they also had to fight another war when they returned, when they were taunted and ostricized by the same people who's way of life they had suffered to defend. I feel nothing but contempt for those who did not do their duty then, those who instead sabatoged the war effort and could easily have destroyed all that both their fathers and brothers suffered and died for. All of "those people" should be embarressed by their actions, not proud. The "peace movement" was THE darkest time in American history. Make no mistake, I am no liberal, nor do I think myself to be moderate, as far as I'm concerned, this whole country is radical to the extreme! But I also consider myself to be reactionary. I'm no fan of Democracy, But if I'm going to be stuck in a republic, and I seem to have little other choice. I intend to make damn sure it is done right, and aiding and comforting the enemy, whether intentionally or accidentally, is not doing it right. And I've had way more than enough of all these cowardly, immature punks from the baby boomer generation who tried, unsuccessfully for me, to cover their cowardice and trechery by claiming that they thought this was "an unjust war." I would, and will, proudly serve my country, even die for it. It is not my place to decide if I feel like it. That is my duty as a citizen. It is my duty as a man!
