definition of treason

Webster's collegiate dictionary defines treason as; 

"The betrayal of a trust"  

By any stretch of the imagination, Jane Fonda betrayed the trust of all the men who passed her notes that fatefull day in the prion camp in Vietnam.  They trusted her to be a loyal American and pass on the information contained in those notes, not turn them over to the camp commander.  

Granted we cannot undo what she did, but to say she didn't commit treason is analgous to saying Judas didn't betray Jesus.
