I currently serve in the Armed Forces and have never seen combat. I don't condone lying about what you do while in service, but I also don't condone spitting on our troops, calling them baby killers, crying and running out of the country when the country goes to war. Even if we are fighting a war we (as John Q. Public) don't believe the U.S. should be invovled in. It all comes back to who you vote for. If you don't like who represents our country and makes these decisions vote for someone else. Setting things on fire (like the flag) and spitting on our service people, calling them baby killers, and running to Canada won't change the fact that all of these people who lay thier lives on the line and all the people who've lost thier life to preserve that freedom you have to spit, burn, and run. So it is my opinion that even a cook in war is a hero compared to the people that sat at home burning the flag, spitting on the wounded veterans. Know matter how you respond to this, it won't change the fact that most of the people protesting the war in such a manner were using the war to protest against thier parents. To run away and grow thier hair and and do some dope and have orgies and right lame ass music acid induced music.
Most people that serve will go to any war because that is the duty of the soldier. When the "Powers to be" call a war, we are the soldiers on the battlefield, not the the people on the top making the decisions. So until you have even left this country and fought for it and watched your buddies die all around you to preserve the freedom that is the foundation of that fucking soap box you're on right now, judge not the people that gallantly lay thier lives down, but yourself for not voting for the right politician. Sincerly, Donald R. Cole
