From Joe N., on Fri, 10 Dec 1999 10:09:58 GMT (in response to: Love and Respect)
A _free_ country, such as ours, and as represented in the First amendment, allows its citizens to beleive whatever they choose. That includes believing in "communism".
And, no: Ho Chi Minh did not go around killing those who disagreed with him--except that the US gov't said so. That 80 per cent of the Vietnamese--both N. and S.--preferred Ho to anyone else was the democratic, self-determined fact. Had it been otherwise that 80 per cent would have what you would impose upon them.
In the end, the people of a country, regardless the country, end up with that which they want.
And no amount of whining nonsense, such as your emotionalized, idiotolgical irrationalities will change those facts (though they may just guarantee it).
