Then decide for yourself: (1) Fonda's credibility given her vitriolic statements about the POW's being "liars and hypocrites" and all American servicemen being "war criminals", and (2) the beatings and deaths these men incurred as a result of her actions. Her compassion for people being in deadly situations involuntarily (as were most American servicemen) seems to have run only in one direction - with the North Vietnamese.

These men had been through hell. Having been through combat myself (but never having endured what these men did), I know that upon returning home these men neither wanted or needed parades or anyone else's approval, and probably did not care what anyone other than their comrades thought of them. In other words, they had no motivation to lie.

The accounts of what Fonda did are not hearsay. Her broadcasts and pictures from Vietnam were carried widely over national media. I know because I heard and saw them for myself. And of course, testimonies of the POW's themselves are the ultimate of first-hand accounts.
