explanation of talk is cheap

..Jane Fonda's inflammatory remarks back then were much like Susan's scathing speech on Survivor, a whole lot of knee jerk ranting amounting to nothing..they had nothing to do w/ the poor 19 year old sucker who was up to his armpits in leeches realizing as enemy gunfire was coming from every direction, that he would never see his wife,18-month old baby, mom and dad, buddies, schoolteachers or his hometown again..he wasn't necessarily thinking of a war that was dumped in our laps by De Gaulle back in '52, continued to be run by buckpassing politicians, who no more valued this guy's life than a flea on a dog's back..Jane Fonda's handling of this matter was as about as disrespectful and damaging as the guns themselves...but, where do we stop and when do we start..?I was there..and she was a momentary opportunist, as when the war was "over", did she continue to campaign for the POW's?..did she care to help families find any info on MIA's?..does she continue to this day, as I do, look after a small group of friends who feel they were permanently damamged by the war?..Did she ever come back and explain her emotions to the people she offended..not the right wing politicians, but the soldiers and their families?...she's always behaved like a spoiled brat, and though I agreed w/ her sentiments, she was here and I was there..I had orders to follow, not to kill babies at every turn, but to get out alive and preserve the safety of my buddies..let's face it..war is real and it's hell..but you're all wasting a lot of time talking when you could be putting it more constructive use..IF YOU REALLY CARE..
