They were like inocent little children, but would fight like savages for us. They looked upon the US Army's Special Forces Medics as White Gods. We called them the little people. As a Special Forces Medic I delivered their babies, treated all of their owies, and on occasion had to bring home one of them in a body bag. Been back 3 times as a tourist looking for some of my old friends, they are all gone. The communist systematicly murdered them. We knew that no matter which side won the war the Yards would be on the loosing end. We meaning the US government sold them out. As an American I have a terible shame and guilt over our treatment of my little people. Each year at the yard picnic in Greensboro, NC I get drunk and really strung out over seeing the few that were able to escape and make it to North Carolina looking for their Special Forces saviors. A lot of the old guys that served with them can't take the emotional stress of seeing them again. Robert McNamar hasn't showed up at one of these reunions either, Maybe he feels guilty, Jane Fonda hasn't been there either.
