I was there With A Battery 3RD & 6TH.I hope the postion was in better shape when you were there. We were on the hill just North East of the Special Force's Camp. I spent a lot of time thinking about it. During our seige the NVA set up a mortar on the hill North West of us. It was in our dead space. The only way we could shot back was with firecracker rounds.

If that hill had been bulldoshed down they couldn't have hide that mortar where we couldn't really shot back at it.

The NVA tunneled under our wire and did a lot of damage. If it had been a stronger force they probably could have over run us. I have always wondered why they spent that much time on a tunnel and just sent in a few sappers.

It would have been nice if they had strung some wire around the place and turned some goats loose in the area.
