Military

All you say is probably true. But, the fact remains you, and by proxy all of us ,were in their country-not ours!

Yes Sir, I am sure it was impossible to tell who were actual combatants and who were innocent civilians. But, still, being in another man's country and killing him, when he has done nothing to America, is the moral equivalent of murder-for those in ultimate authority (LBJ and McNamara) who sent you there.
In my humble opinion, We, (Our Government and leaders) having meddled in a civil war in another man's country, don't have the moral high ground, even under the the most benign, or favorable explanations for My Lai.

God Bless,

Dan Cucich

PS: I know this is probably not the response you wanted, but, Please try to remember that I did not insult you, or question your courage, patriotism, or integrity. Just the wisdom and morality of our having meddled in a civil war from our shores.
So, please don't spam me for having the guts to sign my real name and e-mail address
