DO YOU EVEN KNOW?

From hmongforever, on Thu, 30 Aug 2001 23:51:55 GMT (in response to: I wish you had your Home in Nam)

Yes, you had it bad also...but you don't even know us. You didn't come to help us fight our war, you came to fight the one your country told you to. Your country also made us promises of "safety"...and all those people on that great wall in Washington, none of them are our people's, the ones who helped Americans when injured, crashed, we helped hid them from the enemies, we helped buried their bodies, we were portrayed as enemies, and because we became allies to the U.S., even to this day, there is still hatred towards us due to this fact. At least you can go home, to a loving family...our homes are bombed, demolished by Laotians...we were forcec arbitraited back to Laos, in the hands of our enemies by the U.S. and the United Nations. And you think that your problem isn't as worse as ours. Shame on you. So you can look up and pray for all those on that wall, and you know, if it wasn't for thousands of our people, that wall would have been twice as long. So you should be thankful we helped a country that was "supposedly" our ally, who let us down when they left and betrayed us by having Viet Vets blame us for their losses...all us, the Hmong, the mountain dwellers, wanted was peace and freedom. At least you had a taste of that.
