i wish i knew

From missy, on Fri, 10 Dec 1999 19:58:34 GMT (in response to: I wish you had your Home in Nam)

My father was in Vietnam in 69/70. I guess I'm lucky because I wasn't born yet. I didn't know until about a year ago that he had almost died. If it wasn't for his radio man, who ended up dying saving my father's life, I would never had been born. It's a scary thought for a thirteen year old to have to think. I don't know if my father has nightmares, but I do know that, even though he can talk about it, it hurts him very much. I wish I knew how you felt, and I do feel for you, but there are so many people who must deal with their own fears first. My biggest fear is that something like this will happen again. That time I might not be so lucky and loose someone that I love.
