Unbelievable...

From Sinitiya, on Tue, 10 Sep 2002 01:00:12 GMT (in response to: NO one really knows.)

I come from ancestors that once lived in peace here, this is my original homeland, because of my relatives being friendly/peaceful we have been lied to and our land conquerred. To this very day, we don't have the help of gov. to retrieve our heritage, our graves of ancestors are still being stolen from to this day and many more crimes against our people,.... There are people coming in this country all the time that yell poor me, help us, feel sorry for us,.... Our gov. is no differant than any other gov./leaders' , they have at times lied and done horrible things, also they have done wonderful things for all kinds of people/races, it just turns out that native people are still at the lowest range of getting help, but, we move on, doing what we can to help ourselves, many of our own poeple will not reconize those of us that are mixed blood, we get this from many angles even when we are raised in tradition ways of our people. Does this make all gov. bad or all americans???? NO!!!!!!!!! All hmongs are not good people, nor did all fight, nor can some of them even get over the poor me crap, deal with what you have now and be thankful that it isn't worse, even had your people not helped out, they still would have been tortured/killed, your hmong people were not the only ones helping out, others did this also. Your here now, if, you don't like it here then go try out your own home land or better yet, just suck it up and be more respectful of your parents wishes and do the best you can here and treat others with respect. I personally wish everyone not wanting to be here or complaining because they are here would be given a one way ticket back to their original homeland, every race being born herre is american not asian, african,etc..., american but, just plain american, blame your parents for that not everyone else. You have already been given a headstart above the original people here and many others born here so, why not just do the best you can and stop the poor me trip. Your ancestors had a choice, they made it, you live with it- the same as the rest of us. I see alot of hmong people living in my area and 99% of them are feeling sorry for themselves too, they won't even say hello to a neighbor, the children are rebuked for playing with "american' children - by their own families/people, etc. - that is pretty stupid, the community here adn the schools bend over backwards to make the hmong people feel they are wanted and this is their new home, respecting their traditions, etc., but, most of them still act horribly to the rest of us anyway. So , if, the rest of us get tired of the disrespect to us and tired of trying to be friendly/helpful, tired of the gov. giving to the hmong people then it is the majority hmong peoples own fault, all we can do is try and when refused, then don't get mad at us. Stop walking around with a chip on your shoulders', what happened in past is the past, leave it there and build on what is present and make a future. We all deal with differant backgrounds, traditions, differant race issues, but we all make mistakes, we all come from the human race!!!!!!! It is your choice to let that anger eat at you causing more problems and missing more of what you don't have or you can turn it around and use the anger for a good energy to better yourself and help yourself and others as well. We have all lost alot in one way or another, but, some of us learn to appreciate what we have now and future possibilities. Instead of being angry at americans because of a few that did something you don't agree with, stop and think of all those that gave up everything- including their lives to help your people, had that war been won you would have good things to say about us/yourself, and there were some tha twent there to willingly help. You don't see your peoples names on the wall because we didn't win, had we, then there would be a wall or something similar in your country, blame you roriginal country for that not us. You show no respect when you say you rpeople were lied to and that is why they fought, they lived there, it should be an honorable thing to say they fought, to say they were tricked into fighting by being lied to , is to say they had no honor of their own, it was only borrowed honor, based on if we won the war.
