I'm not quite sure if i understood every phrase you wrote giles, but right now german politics are colliding with the "typical" americanship, and germany is at least trying to find a peaceful solution to worlds troubles (i believe). As a british soldier, you said you are, your country is much more in a brotherhood type towards the US, aren't you?I thought british and american forces are pretty positive about combining forces? same language - very close history and so on. Right now there is one thing about these "empires", i don't want to judge about their general existance, but for any empire that is acting internationally, there is one important rule to follow. Treating the rest of the world inhabitants (and cultures) with the same amount of respect, so that it does not seem as if they apreciate support but if there is critizm, don't care and do it anyway.Treating other cultures in a to disrespectful way might have supported some of these terrorists to stay alive...anyway,i can't speak for other people, but i feel that germany, because of its past, nowadays has a very modern and intelligent conciousness about the peacefull coexistance of cultures in our world.and i'm thankful for that (without wanting to act as the moral advisor type with no practical experience what so ever:-)
