CONCEIT

From Giles, on Mon, 12 May 2003 18:44:58 GMT (in response to: hey giles)

Pride, vanity, smugness, arrogance superiority.

These are all words, which mean the same as conceited.

These are all emotions which have been shown on this board and others by the american contingent.

The american PX, BX and commissaries have scrolling on their tills, Serving the best customers in the world. When you ring these mentioned establishments they even say it to me on the phone (if they have ESP the when I ring, they are correct) but on the whole they are only serving americans.

The americans call their baseball championships the world series when only american teams, with the exception of 1 or 2 Japanese and I believe Puerto Rican (if I am wrong I am sure I will be corrected). That is conceited.

Surely arrogantly thinking america is the best country in the world is a superiority complex.

Yes I love Britain, it is my land, I am English, England is my country but it is not the best in the world. It has many good things and many bad things, as I am sure the america has too. However, the biggest problem with america is the brainwashing of the government over the population.

America is good for people with money but what about the 30 million or so who live below the poverty line, and do not have health insurance because they cannot afford it. What happens when someone who has no job because they do not have the qualifications, and so have no insurance then are attacked. Who pays the hospital.
