Saving our asses ?????

When you talk about "saving our asses", could you be a little more specific ? This because I don't know what you are talking about.

Was there actually a war, where Americas motivation was to help somebody else ? If so, then please refresh my mind.

WWII : untill the Japanese kicked your ass, the only thing you guys did was supporting your local economy by selling weapons to the fighting parties. After having your ass kicked you realised that, after finishing the Brits and the Russians, Adolf would have been coming to your place to kick even more ass. So you guys decided that the best place to fight a war is fighting it overseas. It's always better to fight abroad, knowing that your family is doing fine. Once the war was finished, we had that brilliant Marshall-plan : europe was all fucked up, but no problem, our American friends helped us, they gave us large credits, with those we could buy all the necessary stuff to rebuild Europe, of course the credits had to be used buying goods in the good old US of A. Great support for American economy, of course.

The only reason why you guys don't like the French is because General de Gaulle payed back the credits from the Marshall Plan and asked the GI's to leave France. Other European country's didn't. Thats why we have US-Forces stationed in the UK, Germany, Italy, Belgium...

Why do we have those US-forces all over Europe. I have never heared about German troops in the USA, or Belgian troops or English troops.

Anyway, any one who can give me an example of America going to war to help anyone but itself, feel free to tell me. I love fairy tales so much...
