In April of 1999, ABC aired a Barbara Walters special entitled "100 Women of the Century." It was on this program that Barbara Walters listed Jane Fonda as one of said 100 women. This special was based upon the book published the same year by Ladies' Home Journal Books called "100 Most Important Women of the 20th Century."
