Military

Climbed that mountain too many times!

I was attached to the 3rd Amtracs Bn. for two of my three tours as a Marine in Vietnam. I mapped several tunnels throughout the interior of that mountain. We took a lot of incomming from the VC and NVA from their hideouts on and around the top of Marble Mountain. The ironic thing about the whole affair was it truly was a beautiful place. Just down from the top was a Buddist temple. It was almost surreal to go up to the top on patrol and find peace just over the ridge. Unfortunitly the peace was often short lived.
