Who, as youth of a decade of complete luxuries, complete peace in our North America, complete freedom to say and do as we please, complete ignorance of war, complete ignorance of famine and disease.....who are WE to say that Veterans should not be honored??? Who are WE to say that Veterans wish they hadn't gone? If any of you who dishonor these veterans just take a moment to stop being so selfish and caring about your own damn individualism, and start thinking about your county, you would understand why these men went to war. I'm not saying the war was the right thing to do. In fact, millions of lives could have been saved if the U.S.A. had simply contained their fear of Communism and let the people of Vietnam choose their own government. But, what is done is done. A mistake was made. Yes, it was wrong. But blame the government. Don't blame ordinary people like yourself you went in to fight. Honor those men who went in with good intentions (whether they were brainwashed or not) to keep America free, to actually say, "I will die for all of you in America." While us youth sit in our warm homes with our bellies full and our un-calloused fingers typing away at the computer and surfing the internet, what right do we have to say that soldiers are dumb? It's about SELFLESSNESS. You'd all save your a$$es before anyone else's because you believe in this damn INDIVIDUALISM that has brought countries to their knees. Be Selfless. Be humble. There IS something greater than yourself out there. Try to undergo physical discipline. Try to hold your fellow marine in your arms while he dies. I'm not saying war is the answer. But if it has happened, and if you weren't there, you have no right to spit on those men that experienced the suffering of war. Who knows when war will strike again? What will WE call this era in textbooks 20 years from now? Will it will be called, "The age of Britney Spears"??? I highly doubt it. Perhaps it will be called the Interwar Period. When's the next war people? And will you fight for your countries? Whether you do or do not is not the matter. If you are on the battlefield, fight. But, if you're sitting at home, either make yourself useful in SOME WAY, or don't complain when you find out the end of the world is coming. You weren't there in the middle of all the action to see it coming. Either way, it will effect everyone. So you can just die, shaking in fear in your family room. Or you can die in action. Either fighting in a war, protesting against the war to your government, or doing whatever it takes to make your body and mind useful. Don't be a waste to society people. Use your body, mind and soul, otherwise, you have NO RIGHT TO CRITICIZE.
