Just A Thought

From Justin W., on Tue, 09 Jan 2001 03:11:07 GMT

First off, I'll say that I'm only 17, & wasn't around for this war, but my father & uncle were both in it. They have told me stories of the many horrors they faced & had to put up with both during the war & apon returning home. I must say that I do not agree with sending our troops over to that country to fight for something that had nothing to do with us, but in a way, I'm also greatful that the brave men & women did go. Alot of people payed the ultimate sacrafice over there..many of them not much older then myself. I'm not sure how this sounds..actually I know it sounds selfish, but I'm not sure if I could go to a foreign country, right out of high school, put a gun in my hands, & have to defend myself. Basically what I am saying is thank you to all who did serve in Vietnam. You all will never be forgotten in the hearts of all Americans, and for everyone else..I leave you with this..could you have done what they did? -Justin
