I went over in 69-70,bearly over 18,& ready to take on the world. To save a foreign people from communisum. What I found was that & more. IN fact more than most could handle. Everyone that was there has a different story, seen through their eyes. It's hard to tell someone why someone standing right next to you was suddenly gone. You were lying on the ground & next to you were only parts of someone you new. I was in helecopters both times I was there. I went back 71-72,think I would take someones place & their loved one would not pay the ultimate price. I figured since I'd been their I would have a better chance. No one can ever predict the future. Which is why some came home and some didn't,and a lot of us are still their,& it's still a long road home. If you want to feel close to someone you knew or heard of that didn't get to know-go to,"THE WALL ",IN D.C.,look up a name. Their's people there that will make a wall etching of your DAD's name,go to the museum and see the item's left at the piece of black rock with all those people's names on it. You'll feel as if you can hear him talking to you if you place your hand on the wall. If your real quiet, and close your eyes,he'll tell you,"IT'S OK I'M SAFE NOW ",it's a moving experience. Even though they're not all back, their still in your hearts and minds....Dean Martin
