I hope when you grow up grown ups will learn to talk things over...it's always the little people who suffer their anger. Son, you have a heart of gold there you are beginning to get a grasp on life. As the saying goes, War IS Hell. I hope you never have to experience it first hand...enjoy your childhood and try to understand, when your father went to Viet Nam, he was just a little older than you. The part of his mind which holds all childhood memories is still trying to sort out what he went through as an older kid. The best you can do for him is build new childhood memories with him. Cherish every moment with him. He can be the best friend in the world. Thanks for allowing me to take up a little of your time. I wish you all the luck in the world.

Enjoy this time...and cherish it for the rest of your life.
