I cant believe some of the people here. Of course Vietnam was a failure, our entire "mission" to be there was a failure, the North Vietnamese took over the south, and actually, the domino theory is wrong, because they did take over the south, yet no other countries in indochina became communist. Actually, however, spitting on vets of that war is shocking to me. They had nothing to do with those ignorant, greedy, imperialist politicians we had in office at the time. They did what they had to do. That is that. Let me jsut say, that similarly, most North Vietnamese soldiers were NOT communists. So dont pick on them. They showed a resolute determination, that we didn't show, despite sustaining appaling casualties (3 million). Look, on another note, actually, German soldiers in world war two shouldn't be persocuted either, most of them DID NOT BELIEVE IN some political regime. They were drafted, fighting for their fucking lives. Like all soldiers, throughout every era. IM JEWISH FOR CHRIST SAKE and I lost relatives in the Holocaust, yet I still believe we shouldn't blame German soldiers for what their superiors did. Even now, many veterans in Germany are shunned. It simply isn't right. Im only 13, but I understad that.
