Canadians in 'Nam and need explan. on TET offensive please

From Mel, on Sat, 12 Feb 2000 19:01:57 GMT

Hats off to all the men and women who served in Nam and other 'conflicts' (let's call a spade a spade, shall we? WARS) To put things into context, I'm a Canadian, born in '65 in Montreal, Quebec. I was very young when the US pulled out of Nam. But as a kid, I heard alot of the controversy surrounding it. I went college in Virginia where I met several vets going back to school and found it hard to see these men hurting so much. Since then , my interest has not waned. Rather the contrary. You guys are survivors. How do you do it??

I'm also curious about Canadians in Nam. I know that some volun- teerd and I'm wondering if they got the same treatment when they came home as the US vets. What about compensation or medals, rank, whatever. What was it like for the Canadians?

Just another quick question: could someone please explain what the TET offensive was?

thanks
