Quite right, USA should never have been there in the first place, the whole presnce of USA and Australia was a fraud, This is not to detract from the bravery and misery of the Allied forces, only to highlight the misdeeds of the scoundrels who perpitrared it.

What would USA citizens have done if the situation was reversed, don'y forget that all the Vietnamese were in their own country, not USA!
