I was working with Force Recon( The Marines) as Ranger in Vietnam. Being a tunnel rat simply meant that for every NVA spider hole we encountered I, without orders usually, leapt headfirst into it with pistol and flashlight. Now it was a very dangerous job, a hell of a way to try to get through the war. I lost two fingers to a booby-trap that was a dud. It still hurt like a bitch though. If u want a realistic yet strange view of exactly what u did, the boy in that Forest Gil or something movie, Forest Gump, that's it I think. He seemed to be one of us. If u watch him work you'll see that all he does is whip out a Colt and dive into the hole not caring what's in it. I hope u see this.
