At the age of 19, I volunteered to serve in the US Navy. I spent two tours in the Gulf Of Tonkin. I believed that I was doing the right thing at the time. As I got older and learned more about the war, I realized that the war was wrong and should never have happened. It makes me sad to look at the pictures of the children and think that I may have helped to injure or kill kids just like these. I wish the war had never happpened and hope that we have learned a lesson. I hope that the United States never again takes part in another war like the Vietnam war.
