An American that was born in Saigon, S. Vietnam

From CHE V. RUSSELL, on Sun, 15 Dec 1996 08:25:18 GMT (in response to: Do war era pictures interest Vietnamese today?)

I am an American that was born in Saigon, S. Vietnam in 1965.
My birth father was a S. Vietnamese pilot and was shot down
when I was two years old. My mother married a USAF member,
and he brought both of us back to the U.S. when I was five
years old. Throughout my life, I've been asked over and over
about my thoughts on whether it was worth it for Americans to
be fighting in Vietnam. I can't get too detailed in an e-mail,
but I usually respond that if Americans had not come to Vietnam
I would probably not have been alive today to answer the
question. If I were alive, I would not be living the same
life that I thank God for every day!
I'm now a Captain in the U.S. Air Force trying to pay back some
of the debt I owe this great country for saving me. I look at
the pictures for two reasons:
    1. To remind me of where I've been
    2. To study Vietnam as I would any other country (ie pics
of France, Japan, etc)
Good photos! Thanks!
