From Elizabeth Olmsted, on Tue, 16 Dec 2003 19:19:05 GMT (in response to: Vietnamese Amerasian Website)
My name is Elizabeth Olmsted. I am a graduate student in History at Texas Woman's University in Denton Texas. Presently I am working on my Graduate Thesis. The topic of my thesis is the Experiences of Vietnamese Amerasians in the United States and Vietnam since the end of the Vietnam War. I believe that this is a very important chapter in history that needs serious attention and research. I have gathered a great deal of print resources, however I am in need of interpersonal interviews in order to garner a greater understanding of the experiences of Vietnamese Amerasians in the United States and Vietnam, as well as an outline of the Vietnam War and a portrait of race and race relations in Vietnam and the United States. I am writing this letter to you in the hopes that you will assist me in my efforts and allow me to interview you. Your participation is completely voluntary and the responses you provide shall be utilized strictly for research purposes. I sincerely hope that you will assist me in my endeavor. I will interview in person or through email or over the telephone depending on the proximity of interview subjects. Every interviewee will fill out a consent form, which has been approved by the Research and Grant Office at Texas Woman's University in order for me to utilize the interview. This also ensures you of my sincerity in utilizing the interviews strictly for research purposes. If you are interested please let me know either by telephone, letter or email. My email address is: elizabethviii@msn.com. I truly look forward to hearing from you.
