From Pun (Kwanreoun), on Fri, 19 Sep 2003 11:44:10 GMT (in response to: where are all the thai amerasians?)
Recently I have discoverd that my father is nog my birth father. I was born on 4 July 1972 in a hospital in Bangkok. My mother was living with a "pilot" in Udorn Thani where he was stationed from approx. 1964-1972. My only guide line is that his name is Bob and that he was a "pilot" for the US Airforce during the Vietnam war. Bob had a "collegue" a African American pilot who lived next to them and had also a Thai wife and 5 children. My mother has run away with me after a difficult period and went to Bangkok. Bob has searched for me with the help of Thai police but could not find me. When I was 4 years old I emigrated to Holland and was adopted by my Dutch father. I never knew he was not my birth father untill a few months ago. I am now 31 years old, and maybe you can imagine how my life has completly changed knowing that I have a birth father somewhere in America.
I was born in the PhayaThai 1 Hospital in Bangkok. On my birth certificate the name of a Thai father is mentioned as my mother wanted to take me abroad.
I will be getting married next year and I have only one wish and that is to find my birth father before that time.
I hope you can help me, as time is running, Bob has to be between 60-70 years old now and I do not want to loose more precious time. If you have any information or if you can help me, please let me know.
With kind regards,
