I understand the need to find your fathers, as I went through the same ordeal. There is something none of you have stated in your efforts, many of our "fathers" were very young at the time we were born, they were far away from home and yes it is true some of our mothers prostituted themselves to the soldiers. Many of these men are not proud of the fact that they fathered us and do not want to meet us, some may not know we exist. Some postings indicate that they have attempted to contact their fathers with no response from him. Please allow these men to have a life without knowing you as they may have a wife and children who's lives will be destroyed upon your arrival. I was able to locate my father and meet him, his wife suffered deeply upon learning of my existence as well as his children suffered emotionally as well as resentfully towards me and him. We do not have a relationship I simply wanted to meet him. I have destroyed this family and for what? To meet someone who was not a part of my life for 30+ years? I understand the needs of finding out about your past but have you ever considered that maybe they never wanted to acknowledge your existence or perhaps they wish no contact with someone they merely slept with in a time of horrible circumstances. I understand the search but please remember to tread carefully on this subject you are destroying lives.
