To stumble less often

From Trying to be Human, on Wed, 31 May 2000 16:50:25 GMT (in response to: LETTER TO AMERICA BY A SIMPLE HUMAN BEING)

Every morning when I awake I try to capture by breath, to know that I'm awake. Then as the day progesses, I try with all that I am, to be in the moment however fleating that may be. Am I ashamed of being American, of course not. That would be saying that I'm ashamed of being Human which is a silly concept. I believe that each human being is doing the best that they can and that includes the American government. We can change being human, but only one human at a time. The only person anyone can change is themselves. Perhaps we can influence another, but we cannot change them. So each morning I capture my breath, give thanks for waking up this day and hope I change myself enough that I will become a infleunce for another Human being.
