If you had been there and seen those street children in Saigon and Pleiku what would you have done? What other pictures would you have had me take? Hundreds of thousands of US soldiers rotated through Vietnam between 1962 and 1975. It was an obligation we faced after high school and college graduation, before we could go on with our lives. In addition to the pain and suffering experienced by the Vietnamese, there were almost 60,000 US soldiers killed in action—not to mention the casualties of our allies. It’s been more than 20 years since our involvement in this war. Have we learned?
