simple resemblance

I am in my final year of the landscape architecture course at RMIT University,(Australia) and currently doing a design/research study on Vietnamese temples and its designs. The image of the monument is not strange to me, in fact it almost resemble the ones currently situated here(Aust). I find it amazing that these 'monuments' can exist just anywhere and its landscape, place and context do not contribute much to the values of the icons and what it represents. what do you think?
