My compliments on the photos, they are excellent, change the uniforms and equipment and the faces would always be the same, regardless of how far back in history you look. Some men decide to serve, some have that choice made for them;regardless of this, for the rest of their lives veterans will have to endure criticism, doubt and outrage at what occurred during their conflict, from "experts",politicians and those who have the gift of being "holier than thou"in their word and deed . Oh yeah, not forgeting the head-cases. What is vital is that We, as soldiers, remain true to ourselves and each other. We must resist the onslaught of these people in their attempts to cheapen and devalue what we did: because at the end of the day, when those first feelings for "king and country" had worn off, we realised that we did what we did , not for our leaders, our country, the folks back home, not even for the perfumed generals; We did it for our friends, because nothing else mattered. From Gettysburg to Stalingrad, from Culloden field to Alamein, from Vietnam to South Armagh we have "done the business" and I salute all of us, past, present and future. While some poor bunch of bastards are needed to hold that high ground,we will do so ,whatever it takes, and the critics can kiss my ass. Stag on,lads.
