Military

A thankful, but embarassed Canadian.

From Dan Ellsberg, on Mon, 17 Aug 1998 06:34:31 GMT (in response to: I met you many times upon my return.)

I'm Canadian and grateful that you went overseas to stop the spread of international monolithic communism. Ignore my book- worm neighbor who obviously has his head up his ass and doesn't appreciate the good deed you did for your country and the free peoples of the entire world. Even if "book reader" had been sent to Iraq, the bastard ingrate would have been a pampered REMF anyway. I'm still ashamed that Canada did not send a force over like the Aussies did. Maybe LBJ should have enticed our troops with more than your weak as piss Budweiser beer. Our young are nurtured on stronger stuff. P.S. What were you doing in Viet Nam in 1971-72?
