The Ravages of War
How Sad but True this Tale Unfolds of those so many Ravages of War From Post Traumatic Stress to Combat Weariness Confess
From Murdered Innocents so Young to Sons and Daughters Yet Unfound From Husbands - Wives and Lovers Lost to Broken Dreams - Such Heavy Cost
From Haunting Memories which Flash The Sounds of Death and Blinding Sounds With Which they Crash
The Deadly Silence Which was Near are Sounds of Nothing Which I Fear
And you might ask: "Of what the Worth" and Senseless Answers we Endorse
Yet we will Ponder More and More Why lives are lost In Senseless, Savage Ravages of War
