VietNam Medic ~ The Hollow Halls of Shame

In Pain and with Great Shame, in a Moment filled with Deadly Silence.... I now ponder: "Why Have I Erased Your Name"?

For in Pain and With Great Shame, I had Lost My Brother - My Soulmate - My Friend. But Once Again..... You Haunt Me, With Such Bittersweet Refrain.

For You were Once There, My Brother and My Friend... And Both of Us Were Soldiers, to a Warful Site of Sorrow, Of the Hollow Halls of Shame.

But, Did You Live for Naught? As we fought Our Distant Battles and Had Nothing There to Gain?

~~~~~~~~~~ NO! ~~~~~~~~~
For With Courage as None Other, YOU Were there to Help Your Brother... YOU Were there to help Another. For With Courage and With Love YOU Were There to Give Your Life So that Someone Else Might Gain.
Now the Bitter Tears at Fifty Do My Cheeks - They Once More Stain As I think of You My Brother But I know that God Still Loves You And Remembers Yet Your Name.
