Ms. Phuc, The Vietnam war actually started in several phases so if you do not know much about Viet history, please listen and stop spreading propagandas. In 1946, Hochiminh invited France to reoccupy VN by signing the Peliminary Accords allowing French troops to reoccupy Indochina. France with its colonial mentality tried to take over VN by force (the Hai Phong incident Oct, 1946).The Vietminh no choice but to start the "National Resistance Day" on December 12,1946 when communists troops attacked French posts all over Vietnam. That started the 1st war. France left after the Geneva Conference (7/20/54). In 1955, communist infiltrators moved south to set up infrastructures in an attempt to take the over the south (again by force). That started the 2nd war. After Diem was ousted and killed in a coup d'etat (with the "suggestion" from Henry Cabot Lodge to the pro-American high-ranking officers), the USA took upon itself to commit troops, beginning with the advisors (Kennedy administration). General Nguyen Khanh, a dictatorial military leader, opposed such commitment. Because of that, he was ousted in a peaceful coup (02/25/65). In 3/65, US troops began to arrive to "assist" RVN in the fight against your communist invaders. However, after years of commitment w/o benefits, the US pulled out (Paris Accords 1973). After that, US military aids to the RVN decreased drasticallly while Soviet and Chinese aids increased 200% (as described in Viet communist textbook for 12th grade, you can check it out). The 3rd war which is known worldwide as the VN WAR started in 3/65. Anyway, stop speading propagandas on the net. If you really love communist-Vietnam, go home.....RVN FOREVER.
