O Canada

From Dave, on Wed, 15 Apr 1998 01:51:50 GMT (in response to: THANK GOD AMERICANS ARE RETARDED LIKE ME)

Dude...take 'er easy will ya-was just looking over your response and I must say, I was hoping to provoke a response from somebody who knows what their talking about. Firstly, you said " We have to be (tough) to protect the freedom of chicken shits like you"-does "we" mean all Americans-even the one's who spit on 'Nam Vets, and those politicans who sold you out, or just American troops, or the general population? Frankly, I'm quite shocked you show so much loyalty to a nation who doesn't really care about you (but I do-check out the 22nd response of response #69)-look at the Vietnam Vet suicide rates-don't tell me America cares and don't tell me you haven't been fucked over too, cause that would be bullshit! As for "chickenshit", actually Canadians like a good scrap too, but we're more concerned with peacekeeping. And no, I don't know shit about violence and Death that most of the world experiences everyday...and I thank God for that priviledge. Just imagine what you would be like if you didn't....that's my point. Yeah sure, American cash and power comes in handy, but it's not the average person's cash, it Capitalist's cash and power, and there are limitations even with that. And inbred, shit man, I said I lived in Canada, not the Confederate States.
Well, to get past all that, it's quite an honor to actually speak to a vietnam vet-I've been wanting to do that since I was very young. I always wanted to sit down with a few "coolies" and connect with a vet...to get a vet's perspective from everything from agent orange and the army's re-design of the M-16 (to service tumbling bullets)-to- their personalized account of the War. I've always wanted to visit the Wall! I'm drawn to Veitnam..almost like I was there... As for Korea, Vietnam, Panama, granada, Lebonon, and the Persian Gulf...yeah I know those places. My grandfather chewed ground in Korea for Nato with the BlackWatch-it's kind of like the Marines, Special forces and Green Berets all rolled into one...actually, he used to train Green Berets "in country". A friend of mine was actually in the Marine Corps during Panama, he was stationed at Fort Bragg-but he didn't end up going. Granada, Lebonon, Egypt, Syria, Isral, Turkey, etc, etc, yeah, I know the middle-East-especially the Gulf.(Iraq was pissed at it's neighboring countries (who supported them during the Iraq-Iran conflict) because Iraq was so indebt as a result of the war. They wanted some of their "neighbor's" to raise oil prices and start footing some bills--especially Kwait.(They didn't) Kwait was wealthy and actually stealing oil just across the Iraqi boarder-enough is enough- Iraq invaded to get some cash....and cash is why the U.S. got involved--because Iraq threatened their oil supply. It's alot more complex, but that's all I have time for.) I also know places like the Caen area in France were Canadian troops defeated the 12th SS Hitlerjugend Panzer Divison in 1944, D-Day and the 3rd Canadian Anti-Tank Regiment who took out pillboxes around Juno Beach so U.S. troops could advance quicker and with less causualties, and in Stalag Luft 3 (the "Great Escape") in 1944 that sent shock-waves through Nazi Germany & where many P.O.W's were executed when recaptured..also..Vimy Ridge, Amiens, Sicily, etc, etc. So yeah, I know those places.
My first message was generalized..meaning the news is plauged with guns in the school yard this, and murder that..it's tiring! But you have to admit, you must be bitter at your country at least alittle? And personally, I think there's still P.O.W's in Veitnam, Cambodia, and Laos--yet another American sell-out...don't you agree??
