WHY INDEED!!

From David Buffalo, on Sun, 26 Jan 1997 21:41:40 GMT (in response to: WHY INDEED!!)

As a Viet Nam Vet I think back to my father and what WW II was fought for as well as WW I. They were fought for the right of our citizens to approve, disapprove, show their feelings, and react to practices and policies enacted by our government. Viet Nam was one of those policies that should never have been. The majority of the citizens reacted to it positivly in the begining and negativly at the end. We were deceived for twenty odd years before we realized we didn't belong there. Unfortunatly over 60,000 servicemen lost their lives before we woke up. Clinton did what he felt was right just as the 3 - 4 million others who participated in that struggle did what they thought was right. It is now time to let it go and get on with the business of getting ourselves together as a country once again.
