Final Reflection

The purpose of a resume is to communicate your background and experience in ways that will convince a hiring committee to select you. Since interviewers often have many candidates, you want your resume to be succinct, unique and clear.

Seton Hall Career Services has resources and offers workshops on developing a high quality resume and interviewing. Having experienced teachers and administrators review a draft of your resume can be helpful. Often student teachers peer review their resumes during their seminar.

Often a resume may use many of these headings to organize a candidate's experience. Select the ones that seem the most appropriate match with your background: Educational Background, Field Experience, Teaching Experience, Related Experience, Technology Skills, Languages, Volunteer or Community Service, Honors/Awards, Travel,  Hobbies, and Clubs and Activities.
