Final Reflection

"We don't learn from experience; we learn from
reflecting on it."

                                                                                                Dewey

In creating a portfolio, you will reflect on your achievements.  By asking yourself these three basic questions:

WHAT...
What did you do well?
Why have you chosen these pieces to represent your work?  Are there exhibits that you wish you could add?

SO WHAT...
What did you learn from this experience? What do you know that you didn't know before?  What can you do that you couldn't do before?  What standards do your artifacts fulfill?

NOW WHAT?

What effort are you proudest of and why? Based on your achievements, what might you do next?  Why?

By engaging in this thoughtful process, you will gain a deeper understanding of the power of your work and its influence on student learning. Artifacts show achievement, or provide evidence, while reflections elaborate on the meaning, and value of the experience. This process allows you to grow professionally.
