| Overview:

Decisions about the appropriate research methods are always revisited in major projects, theses, and dissertations. Qualitative research is another method for collecting and analyzing data, information and advancing knowledge in the field of Education. Typically, this type of research is very rich in descriptive qualities and more appropriate in circumstances where quantitative research cannot be used. This course will introduce students to various qualitative research techniques, including survey research, questionnaires, and interviews. Quantitative methods for qualitative data are included to enhance data presentation. | |||

Students are expected to become
proficient in conducting qualitative research for their educational administration
duties and responsibilities. Specific outcomes listed below are aligned
with program objectives within the department, NCATE accreditation standards
as outlined by ISTE, and the ISLLC standards for school leaders.
