Image of Dr. Leigh Stelzer

Dr. Leigh Stelzer is Chairman of the Department of Management. He is also President of Beta Gamma Sigma Alumni Chapter of Greater New York and Membership Program Vice President of the New Jersey Chapter of the National Association of Business Economics.

Professor Stelzer earned his Ph.D. in Political Science in 1971 at the University of Michigan where he specialized in organizational and political behavior, research methodology and social psychology. Prior to coming to Seton Hall, he was Empirical Research Director for the American Bar Association.

Dr. Stelzer has published numerous professional articles on business and politics, classroom strategies, U.S.- China trade, and other management topics. He has also written for the New York Times, the Wall Street Journal and the U.S.- China Business Review.

Dr. Stelzer has made four extended trips to China as a teacher, researcher, consultant, and member of a trade delegation. Most recently, he spent the Fall 1993 semester in Beijing as Professor of International Business Economics at China's premier business school. He also lectured at Shanghai Institute of Foreign Trade and the Gvangzhou Institute of Foreign Trade.

Dr. Stelzer has served as assistant dean and the director of the division of research at the W. Paul Stillman School of Business and initiated the annual Business Outlook Conference in 1991 and served as director for four years.
