NJSAA Museum/Historic Site Award 2005

The NJSAA originated an award for museum education in 2003. Starting in 2004 it will alternate between awards to institutions with programs at historic site and museums, and individuals who have worked at museum/historic sites on education projects. The award is given in March at the History Issues Convention and includes a certificate and check for $50.

FOR 2005 the New Jersey Studies Academic Alliance invites nominations for the New Jersey History Museum Educator Award for Excellence in New Jersey History Education in Museums. Nominations of institutions who have made a significant contribution to the teaching of New Jersey History in a Museum environment either through development and/or presentation of programs for school classes and/or general public audiences should be sent to Lorraine Williams at New Jersey State Museum, PO Box 530, Trenton, NJ, 08625 by February 15, 2005. The award committee members are Dorothy Hartman, Robert Heinly and Lorraine Williams.

Nominations should include a written description of the nominee's contributions, citing specific accomplishments, preferably with supporting materials. Those eligible include all developers and/or presenters of programs, including but not limited to those with the job title museum educator.
