Intro Bones Tutorial

  1. Open file “Arm” found on syllabus page.
  2. Go to Create/System and select Bones
  3. In front viewport start bones chain by clicking on top edge of “arm.”  Click again halfway down arm.  First bone is in place.  Click again at end of cylinder and again at bottom of object.  Right-click. 
  4. Select arm object and go to modify tab.  Add “skin” modifier to arm. 
  5. Add bones 1-3 to chain.  Note that bone 4 is the nub automatically created at end of chain and used for IK manipulations.
  6. Use transforms to move and rotate bones.
